Shape Printables for Kindergarten
Learning about shapes is such a fun unit for kindergarten students! There are many different activities that can help students explore shape names and attributes. Low-prep worksheets can be a very helpful tool for incorporating shape practice into your daily learning routine. In this post, I’m going to share some Shape Printables for Kindergarten that will help students identify, draw, and name a variety of 2D shapes.

8 Kindergarten Shape Printables
After students have had a chance to learn about shape names and attributes from engaging rhymes and explore shapes through hands-on activities, it’s helpful for them to review what they’ve learned. This is when shape printables can be such a helpful tool! You can incorporate worksheets into your daily learning routine to add some much-needed practice with 2D shapes.
Worksheets don’t have to be dull! Here are eight kindergarten shape printables that your students will love!
1. Shape Pages
First, students can review the attributes of individual shapes with these shape pages. First, they can review the actual shape by tracing and drawing. There are plenty of guides on the page to help them be successful! Then, students can review how many sides and how many corners the shape has. Third, students can practice identifying the target shape in real-life objects. They will find and color the correct shape in a group of various objects.

2. Shape Maze
Another fun way for students to review individual shapes is with a shape maze! Students can create a path through the maze by coloring the boxes that contain the focus shape. These worksheets include both real-life objects as well as traditional shapes, depending on what your students need.

3. Trace and Color
If your students are ready to review multiple shapes at once, this trace and color worksheet is a great place to start! Students will be able to trace and color multiple shapes at once. They can also use the outline letters to help them practice writing each shape name.

4. Count and Color
A count and color activity is another fun way for students to review multiple shapes in one activity. Students will count and color one shape at a time in a group of shapes. After coloring the shapes, they will write the total number of each shape they colored on the line. This activity doubles as helpful practice with one-to-one correspondence!
5. Cut and Sort
Students can also practice shape identification using real-life objects with this sorting activity. The visual instructions at the bottom of the page can help students complete this activity more independently. This is very helpful if you plan to use shape worksheets during your math centers time!

6. Color by Code
Students always love color by code activities, so they’ll be excited when you add them to shape review in your classroom! Each space in the picture includes a shape, which students will color according to the code at the top of the page. This activity also provides students with color word practice, since they will identify the color word before beginning the activity. They can fill in the key with marker or crayon to remind them what color to use for each shape.
7. Color Match
This color match activity is another color by code activity. This version uses 2D shapes in real-world objects. After reviewing the code, students will find each shape in the set of objects on the page and color it according to the key. This is a fun way for students to think about the shapes they see in the world around them!

8. Roll and Trace
Turning a worksheet into a game is another way to make shape review more engaging for students. For this activity, students will need a die and a writing utensil. They will roll a die and trace the shape that matches the number they rolled. They will keep rolling until they have traced all of the shapes on the worksheet.
For some additional fun, students can choose their own key for this activity by coloring in the shapes at the top of the page. They can then trace the shape with that color when they roll the matching number.
